  Shame I can't give this place zero stars! I took my etec there, they stripped it down as they heard a noise but couldn't tell me what the actual problem was. So the quote was a whopping $4000! there was some light scouring from one while piston but apart from that they couldn't tell me what was making noise in my motor. Jade the mechanic stood there waffling cr*p I kept thinking, this guy admits he doesn't know the problem, so the fix is replacing the injectors, a piston and an oil pump and another part I can't recall. Like going to a car mechanic and them saying there's a funny noise so we'll just start by replacing parts of your motor until the noise is gone. I really felt they wanted to sell me a motor and have mine for parts. anyway $100 down and my motor in pieces I left there for a second opinion. Enter Bowman marine in Alloway, guy was super easy to deal with, explained everything and fixed my motor for $700, ran diagnostics and ran the motor (with no funny noise) for me at the shop right on pickup. He wasn't sure why my motor had been stripped down so much by Jade. His diagnosis? Motor is running great, pressure is good, no funny noise anymore after smoothing the scoured bore a little and cleaning jets etc. showed my printouts and said i should have years left in this motor. save your time and go to Bowman Marine in Alloway. Adrians Marine shouldn't touch etec motors.
